The Q Standard Lifestyle & Apparel is bigger than clothing—it is a way for our community to invest directly in the student-athlete experience at Odessa College.

As the head women’s basketball coach at Odessa College, I’m grateful for the resources and support our college provides. Our program has an amazing budget, but there are experiences we want to give our young women that naturally fall outside what a traditional athletic budget is designed to cover.

That is where The Q Standard can make a difference.

Support of the brand helps create additional opportunities for our women’s basketball program—things that strengthen culture, connection, personal development, and the overall student-athlete experience.

Examples can include bringing in motivational, leadership, mental-performance, and professional-development speakers; team-building experiences; taking our players to a movie or another activity away from basketball; celebrating milestones and accomplishments; providing special experiences for our players; and creating memories that strengthen our Sisterhood.

The purpose isn't to replace what Odessa College provides. It is to add to it.

I believe coaching is about more than wins and losses. Our responsibility is to help develop young women who are prepared for basketball, careers, relationships, leadership, and life. Some of the most meaningful moments in a young person's college experience happen away from the scoreboard.
